Horizontal lines
For this project I decided to use this compositional elements because I've actually become very comfortable with them over my first semester and I feel as thought i understand them the most when taking my photos. although I would like to start trying new things and not just sticking to my comfort zone and taking the easy way out.
Life at night
For each of the subjects that I used, I did decide that it would be kind of cool to make a photo diary out of places and things that I see everyday. taking the bus everyday shows me some cool landmarks and walking around campus also gives me cool ways to incorporate compositional elements and seeing as I use my laptop everyday and it's a big part of my school career I decided why not make it apart of my photo diary.
Rule of thirds
there is a bit of a story behind photo number 2, it was the night after the big storm we had gotten and I was a waiting my bus to come but I had already been standing outside waiting fro 45 minutes the I too this photo. the lights were what really stood out to me and the fact that I actually had time to look around. the couple bad parts behind this photo were the fact that I had to end up waiting an hour and a half for my bus and also it was -14 c and very windy outside. Super cold!!
before the storm
for this project the challenge I really faced was the fact that I had difficulty with my phone camera for most of it, I was having technical difficulties with the focus aspect on my camera. I tried my best to make my main subjects in focus but I really struggled with that aspect. especially in picture number 4 you can't really tell what is supposed to be the subject even though I wanted to make the clouds the main focus but it's kinds of lost.
Windows
personally I feel I achieved new aspects and levels of my compositional elements and I also feel as though I took the time to take my photos and prioritized them. I did also take the time to make some edits to them. I learned that with this photo diary if you actually want to follow the rules you will actually find the time to take the photos on the day. I decided that for it to be a true photo diary you need to take the photo on the day that it's supposed to be taken.
